The Germans riot after losing to Spain. Goodness. Such...English behaviour. Yet if English fans had rioted it would have made worldwide headlines. Strange that.

I tell you what, the old "English disease" is not so English. Have a look on Youtube for Danish football violence, it's a right mess, partly down the fact that they are not legally allowed to issue banning orders as it might infringe someone's human rights! And when the Yanks get all holier-than-thou, get them to search for Basketball violence - you would be amazed how many Colleges end up trying to punch lumps out of each other when it goes against them.

Was watching a CCTV clip this week for some Turkish team, and it shows that the players on the team were actually inciting the crowd - when they were fouled, they would take their shoe off and show the bottom of the shoe to the opposing fans, looking like they were showing that the foul was so aggressive it took their boot off. Their intelligence unit took a while to work out that the opposing fans were almost all Muslims and therefore showing someone the bottom of your shoe is hugely offensive!

some US team *won* their league in some funny sport a couple of years, and the thousands of jubliant fans spilt out of bars into the city and literly ran riot. some games in Italy have running battles with the police and cars burnt around the stadia. an argie club is basically run by the "lads" and if they dont like things they have a tear up until the chairman resigns.

its only the "English disease" in the eyes of our media and myopic authorities/press abroad that would rather ignore local trouble. i think the only difference was we exported it when following the national team.
