Just seen one of our gals taken out by a Brazilian. I've seen some shocking tackles go unpunished in this Olympic football tournament. Makes it a little more entertaining but someone is going to get really hurt soon.

Alex Scott, the right back I think, has been class. As has that Kim Little.

Number 3 Steph Houghton has been good too. Not too impressed with Kelly Smith given her reputation though, perhaps a little bit past it

Good game, well played GB ladies. Anyone else think the GB No.6 looked like Andy Carroll? Also it will be a bit embarrassing for Cov fans that women's football is the only time their stadium will be a sell out this season!

Very impressed with the standard even though only saw first 20 and last 10 mins as was at work. Much better than 4 years ago and another world from 8-10 years ago womens football

Yeah the rate of progress is what amazes me more than anything else.

Perhaps our men's soccerists should take a look at the ladies game as a whole and see what they are doing right, because the men look clueless in comparison.

Incidentally, is the women's competition also U23 or is that just the men?

The women's competition is open to all ages unlike the men's.
