A good referee will go un-noticed, and won't have the need for threads time and time again. The fact that we've won most games under Ward, yet I still remember him as being utterly useless suggests something is wrong. A good referee may make a couple of minor mistakes, but minor in the fact that they'll be forgotten about by the end of the game.
That's my opinion anyway, and I referee every single week on a Sunday during the football season as a part time wage whilest studying.
