Looks like gavin hoyte might be starting for arsenal in the centre of defence against spurs tonight in the carling cup, wonder how he will do considering he got a lot of stick from some of our fans last season.

Still Somewhere in Sussex!
Bloody Hell, I have heard of squad rotation, but that's just ridiculous! Spurs to win 4 - 1 then.

You would have to heavily back Spurs in that case. He struggled against some League One wingers let alone what Spurs have to offer.

Does he not have a brother? (which can lead to all sorts of hilarious confusion)

According to an Arsenal fan at work, that is where they normally play him in the reserves.

Being played out of position might explain why he was so shit when he was with us.

If Hoyte plays, there's a good chance Arse will lose. If Hoyte plays CENTRE BACK I think they'll get thrashed. One of the worst players in Poyet's reign. How he ever got in Arsenal is a joke - Average conference player at BEST.

Gavin Hoyte IS* a centre back, though.

He ws a Slade signing though (Poyet might have extended his contract?), I remember being incredibly excited that we might have a decent replacement for Whing at the time.

Gus extended the loan... I mean of players under Poyet's management that have played...

Regardless of whether people consider him a CB or not - he's fecking awful and will do more damage in a match playing CB than RB... I honestly don't usually slate any of *our* players like I have him but he was pathetic. seemed to only 'prod' a ball with the outside of his foot and was woeful in the air as you say... Also I rmeember him not bothering to get goalside vs Charlton at home when he had 10secs to do so and they nearly scored - since that point he went down BIG TIME in my estimation. Thought he was better than most cos he's at Arsenal - truth is he's SHIT.

I thought that he was an able deputy for Calderon and was wrongly slated by many on here.

You're entitled to ur opinion gramps but technically he was woeful...!
