This could be good news for the Slade outers.

Was he told not to make any further signings at his meeting with Bloom?

I think it had more to do with Roberts not wanting to play for us.
roberts was at brighton station saturday evening catching train up north, said he was supposed to sign before the game as promised, nothing materialised so went home saturday night .

Thats the way it would appear if Roberts was expecting to sign at the weekend and DW was hinting that both trialists were on the point of joining.

Really? That sounds like a massive lie! Why do people post that players are getting trains from Brighton station? They would drive surely?

He came on trial for the club, was told he was getting a deal before Saturdays game after training for two weeks (i believe), then had no communication from the club so left.

Shame, very good player and deserves another chance after coming out of rehab.

Looks to me like the board wouldn't sanction signing the trialists, read into that what you will.

OK, I will.

I read into it that you're guessing about the board's attitude to triallists.

Im hardly guessing, you had DW in Friday's Argus hinting that one or both trialists were on the point of signing, then if Jaylondon's post is to be believed, theyre left in limbo so in Roberts's case he takes the silence as nothings happening so walks.

A couple of things.

The Argus said DW hinted deals could be in the offing. That's different from definitely confirming they're on the point of signing. Then you had jaylondon saying what he believed happened.

The only communication from the club before today's announcement (where is the announcement incidentally?) was from Insider. 'They're not due to sign today [Friday]. IF there are any developments on either player they will be next week. To say the club is on the verge of signing either player is wide of the mark.'

Whichever way it goes you just know that, if Roberts signs for another League 1 club, it will come back to bite us.
