Maybe fixtures but worth a look for the presenter's reaction (she's Gordon McQueen's daughter) and the way she deals with it...and her cheeky glances at Pallister's "bulge"!! Clock Paul Parker's wide eyes too!!!

Why does everyone post "maybe fixtures" when posting a new thread?! What's the relevance, I don't understand.

The video isn't as funny as the caller calling Gary Newbon an old **** on Sky Sports.

Because if you don't look back through every thread ever started on NSC before you post something, and your thread subject was originally posted 5 years ago, you run the risk of all the NSC smartarses queueing up to tell you exactly how far behind the times you are. I didn't want to research the whole of NSC to see if anyone had posted the clip before and was trying to avoid the comments. I got your comment instead.

And then of course, no matter what you post, someone comes along (usually in the first few replies) and tells you that something you liked or thought others may enjoy isn't as good/clever/important as something they have seen. Even if the post wasn't meant to be about the best/funniest/cleverest thing ever witnessed and was just for the benefit of those who may just enjoy something they might otherwise have missed.

Can I just clarify that despite what Playing On The Grit suggests, I am NOT Simon from Leicester.

Come on, why comment about the fixtures thing? And if I had posted that "this is the funniest clip ever" fair enough, tell me theres a better one. The clip was just so that people who had read about it could have a look. But then again, as a fairly new and occasional poster (and someone not in the grand NSC clique) my posts are there to be ridiculed and abused. I suspect thats why more people lurk and don't post.

Some people on here like posting so that it stirs up aggro, some like the banter and some like being the centre of things whether good, bad or ugly (we all know who they are!!!) but I post occasionally when I have something genuine to say or a clip to show people who may otherwise not see it.

Well said, and don't be discouraged by that stuff.

In fact, the thing to do is ignore it as just white noise from the crackling void.

Thanks NMH. I'm getting the impression a few posters on the periphery feel the same way as me.

Maybe I'll just join the majority and abuse other posters and their thread subjects as a matter of course no matter what my opinion or what the outcome might be!!!

In my opinion, you should stop bleating about how this forum is and either put up, or shut up. You won't get people to stop the cyncism or the moaning, so it's not worth worrying about. Post if you want to share an opinion, or don't. It doesn't really matter.
