Both books a re well worth reading - if a little dated now.
Left Foot Forward is about his last year at Charlton. Left Foot in the Grave is about his year in management at Torquay United - including signing a young whippersnapper called... Charlie Oatway. The second book is from the 1996/97 season - and there a re a few references to the nonsense we were going through, plus his bit about how Barry Lloyd dropped him from the 1991 play-off final.
Both books make very good reading. I bought the second one from the Torquay club shop when we played down there. Nelse was in there signing copies - he was their manager at the time, but most of the queue were Albion fans.
I thought Nelson was player coach at Torquay. The second book should be required reaading for all the Premiershite twerps on £80k a minute. They may then realise how lucky and pampered they are.
