My son found an Irish token made from a copper aloy it was used to wiegh portugese gold and the finds liason officer at Lewes castle gave us all the info as its quite rare and had to go on a data base and it was from 1718 !! Not worth much but when he handed it to me i dismissed it as a button !
My brother found a Worthing ginger beer bottle which the makers name was Tutts from worthing and sold it for £400 !!

I once found a hop token in my back garden at home in Shoreham when I was a boy. Took it to the Marlipins Museum for identification and gave it to them. At the time I thought it was medieval, but was probably Georgian/Victorian.

Although not found in the garden we found a hand written note on the back of some panels in a bungalow on Shoreham Beach ten years ago.
It was from a Canadian soldier who was posted there to protect us from invasion.
He was missing home!
The owner took it to Marlipins Museum as far as I remember.

We had our hall redecorated a couple of years back and when our mate had stripped the wallpaper off, written on the plaster underneath in pencil was a note from 1957, with the name of the bloke who presumably put the first layer up.

I dug up an air raid shelter in my garden - it was to take the families of the four terraced houses in my road so was quite big.
Had reinforced roof made up of old curved railings - I took my chimneys down and filled the hole up with the rubble so it came in handy really

If you don't own a dog it may be fox shit

No was the dog she must have done a cheeky one ... we normaly clear up straight away and the foxes tend to keep out of the garden and shit in ones field.
