All through the game Barnes had been doing OK against one of the centre halves but every time he got a flick on (to run for it himself) the marking centre half subtly blocked his run, though not violently enough to be obstruction, and the other one tidied up. As soon as Lita came on it was two against two, they were put under pressure and that's how the foul was drawn for the scoring free-kick. Also no-one has appeared to mention the overhead kick from Barnes that hit the defender's hand from which the ball bounced for Lita to score.
