Wasnt Gallagher suspended by the Premiership a few years ago? Can anyone remember why?

Maybe, MM mentioned something on the post match interview but not sure what he said.

From today's argus:

McGhee is frustrated that Albion have no right of appeal against Virgo's disputed second caution versus Sunderland.

Referee Dermot Gallagher deemed his challenge on Jeff Whitley as reckless, but McGhee remains convinced it was a legitimate ball-winning tackle.

"They cannot compete with the workload of every single yellow card being appealed," McGhee said. "There is a certain sense in that, but equally you would like to think the referee can look at it again.

"I don't see why the referees shouldn't be given total authority to review all the disciplinary decisions they make during a game and really try not to have people suspended, rather than trying to get them suspended.

"It also maybe makes the case for a sin bin. On Saturday if there had been a sin bin in operation then maybe Virgs would have been in there for five or ten minutes."

Current regulations prevent Albion from appealing against anything other than a straight red card for violent conduct.

Referees can decide themselves to review a decision they have made, but clubs are in breach of the rules if they make any contact with them in an attempt to persuade a re-think.
