Mate of mine has been seconded to work at the Olympics for 2 months., he was in a vehicle that was given the attached ticket ( by a "man who could not speak English"), The vehicle I am told was in a secure 'military' park.

Oh come on, you don't think for a minute that G4S made that particular rule and enjoy milking £400. They merely enforce the rule as part of their contract as they've been told to do!

Surely if they impound any military vehicles the owners will just turn up with a tank and a few guns and "acquire" the vehicle back again?

Yes because that's exactly what will happen.

Personally I'd send a few Royal Marines around to the wardens HQ and I'm sure they would "persuade" G4S to see the error of their ways !
