So what you're saying is we've got more fans that think we're a big club than you have but they're wrong cos you used to get bigger crowds than us blah blah blah ...

The fact is we're both small clubs in the general scheme of things and let's be honest, even if you get Falmer, even if we get to rebuild the Ellerslie Road stand (the one on your right yesterday) or build a new ground near Heathrow, we'll always be small clubs.

Look on the bright side ... you'll never get a prawn sandwich at our place!

PS A couple of good seasons? You cheeky b:censored:rd! Point is though that just like your time in the First Division, it counts for diddly nowadays.

Happy New Year! (See we're not all bad).

I was in the top tier and I think it looked far worst from there live than it did on the tv. And as it came so late in the game it did not make much difference. However, I think QPR have now been sussed at this level. They are still playing as they did last year and good footballing sides will take them apart. Reckon they will keep slipping down the table. What a shame.:(

Holloway is quoted in one paper as saying; "Paul said he got elbowed twice and then their lad fell over his leg".
That sorts that out then.

Im sure Holloway said more then that, he is not able to say something so straight forward. You sure he didn't liken it to a night out on the beer?

Good old Virgo had the best line though with "I'm gonna get a f***ing fine now and I didn't even get a decent punch in".

Definite "Captain in the making" material that lad:clap2:

I don't think many Brighton fans delude themselves into thinking that we are a big club, if nothing else we are realistic. I count myself fortunate to remember the rise to Division One and the four seasons that we spent there, culminating in the Cup defeat to Man Utd. None of this has made me think that we are a massive club, if anything we were punching somewhat above our weight, but it does make me dream of the day that we might welcome the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle to our new ground. Having followed the fortunes of the Albion for the best part of 30 years it has made me a realist, I enjoy the good bits but never take them for granted, history shows us that you can never be certain what is around the corner.

As for the comparative sizes of QPR and Brighton, I reckon we are about the same, the difference is in the level of potential. Our location means that our nearest natural rival is about 40 miles to the north, how far is it between Loftus Road and Griffen Park?

I must admit that from the lower tier, I could not see much. I thought, "oh no, Hinsh, what have you done?" and then the referee went up to Furlong and sent him off. It did look a bit innocuous on Sky. As for QPR fans, I can only give the example of my QPR-supporting workmate, who is constantly buying rounds when we go out for drinks. He bought the entire office (30 people) a round at our Christmas meal in Covent Garden, so I can't imagine how much that cost him, and he is always extremely generous about Brighton when we discuss football, so they are not all bad. The only sign of trouble I saw was in the Springbok pub, when Albion fans were singing and QPR fans were replying, when an Albion fan got the hump and started swearing and it nearly started a fight. I think I saw Fatboy in there (not involved). Did he or anyone see anything?
