Can't see that this is directly Blairs fault. If people were just carrying along as normal without "panic buying" all over the place, then stations wouldn't be running dry.

Does he not hold the key for the next few days?

For a start he should realise the problem he has in front of him before its too late.

He should be rationing the fuel today not tommorow because he can make the rules but no one else can.

Secondly yes these greedy tossers who have taken a full tank should think about the people who might really need it over the next few days.

And we should also blame these Americans for burning 2 millions barrels a day. What a disgrace. Did you know they could probably half that amount if they really really wanted too and really cared about the enviroment.

Who else are you going to blame?! This is no-one's fault but the people who are panic buying!

..that and the 65% of what you pay going into the government tax coffers.
The media (sorry LI) hyping the story up.
People with bigger cars than brains.
The crap national transport network.

Loads are to blame, but no-one is going to step up to solve it. A drop in the duty would be good, but that will encourage people onto the roads. A working, reliable and properly priced national transport network would be ideal, but not by Wednesday!

People believing that they don't need their cars for stupid little jobs - walk to the shops, cycle to work, walk to school instead!

On NSC for over two decades...
I blame myself for buying a full tank before flying to Cologne last week.

Clearly this has ruined everybody elses chance of getting petrol ever again... But at least I have plenty of fuel to get to the game tonight, and Saturday too!!

To be fair, I don't know anyone who has a brain bigger than a car (except maybe LI ?). Although come to think of it, there was someone at my school who could cram a Matchbox replica Austin Allegro up his right nostril. But I'm not sure thats relevent now.

Well I know the tories f***ed up the NHS and I know the Tories f***ed everything else up as well. But please note:-

1) I am not a Tory. I would never be one. They are bunch of :censored:

2) How long has Blair been in power and how long must we wait before things get better? and have they got better

3) Have you seen the state of the education system?

Oh yes lets all blame the 4x4 brigade. People can drive what they like, they pay for it with higher prices.

Seen it? He's a product of it!

Labour have only had 8 years to get things sorted. Give them time and everything will be fine......

I always think people who drive around in agricultural vehicles for non-agricultural purposes deserve all the grief they get - it is no different from moaning about Chris Eubank driving around in his truck.

But they pay for the privilege. Higher taxes, higher fuel prices etc. They contribute more, so let them have it.

The furthest offroad many of the 4x4s get is mounting the pavement as they drop the little darlings off at school. Many of the drivers are technically incompetent, and are actually unable to drive the vehicle, assuming it is no different to a normal car. They have no appreciation of height or space, but because they are in a tank, they don't care either. They are ineffective vehicles for round town driving, fuel inefficient and pedestrian unfriendly, especially in collisions. People will buy whatever they think is trendy, and whatever they think will get them noticed. 4x4s fit the bill at the moment.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Cycling in today, a big f***ing queue of guzzlers forced traffic to slow on Holloway Road. All of them as selfish as the next. It stuns me, when i think about it, that people can protest about the price of petrol. All the wrongs in the world, and this is what motivates them. And instead of looking at what raises the price of oil, they think disruption is the key.
Selfish idiots.
