The visitors won an injury-time penalty but Bramble's spot-kick was blocked by goalkeeper Michel Kuipers who made an even better save to deny Jay Smith from the rebound.

Just copied and pasted this and added to todays goal makes me think. It's not just Kuipers saves, its his presence, he inspires confidence in the defense around him, Roberts maybe a better keeper in some respects but I would still get the FDM back right now!

I dont think any Albion fan will ever forget that penalty save in the first couple of minutes at home to Blackpool a couple of seasns ago with the score at 0-0, we went on to win 4-0...

One final thing!!

Coppell announced, without announcing the name, that Roberts will be the No1 keeper

Some numpty then got on the mike and said FDM was well respected and loved by Brighton fans (true) but we (ie the fans) would want FDM as No1 keeper, not Roberts!!

Not true sir, dont proclaim you speak for all Albion fans, I'm quite happy for Roberts to be No1 and so were all the other sitting around me

As the numpty who got on the mike at the Fans' Forum, I'd just like to say that I now think that we should get behind Ben Roberts and sell the FDM to the highest bidder.

I originally asked the question to draw an opinion out of SC. He clearly backs Roberts. So do I. Our failings lie collectively in midfield. We won't solve the problem by finding a scapegoat in a grey shirt.

I misread that twice.

First time I thought you were on about grey coated goats.

Then a goat in a gay shirt. ???

Hmm. :jester: :lolol:

I was the "numpty" LB and I have every right to say what I think about a very poor error.

It was an accident waiting to happen, and sadly it did.

I really love Michel as our keeper but if it comes down to the nitty gritty and we cannot keep both then I would choose Roberts as the one we keep.

So would I.

On SCR, they were saying that their defence was really poor. That says a lot for our midfield/attack. How many shots on target - was it one?

It's easy to blame the keeper, but these things happen. When it happens to a keeper, it often results in a goal. To an outfield player, it gets forgotten, as it normally doesn't result in a goal.

I was watching Hull v Donny in a bar in Kos with the sound down.

I thought he was being sent off at one point then the muppets changed the channel.

I'd keep Kuipers.

with almost every footballer they seem to play better when they know someone is right behind them gagging to take there place.

Ben roberts must be quaking in his boots with what keepers we have left NOT!
