moving on, re freeview- anyone know why there are channels listed on the guide, that dont show up when selected?
#17 - g.o.l.d, #34 (i think) espn, maybe others..
I know im a bit thick over all this but am a tad confused. As it stands although my sky box is still connected I am know longer subscribing and wont be for conceivable future if ever again. I pick up the freeview stations through the receiver ok with a couple of exceptions. With regard a freesat card. Do i buy one, replace the skycard with it, and then get more channels including the freeview ones.
Because my whole sky package include broadband etc i expect that to go any day too. so things all a bit of a pain
Hello mate, I think the confusion has arisen because you mentioned 'Freeview'. It is generally accepted that freeview is digital TV received from a TV aerial. I believe you are talking about free channels on your Sky box, in which case, you will not receive Dave or yesterday (although it is available via aerial). But you will get plenty of channels. you can contact sky to get a card, which I think is still under £30 (and the confusion arises because they decided to call it 'freeview from Sky')
Personally, I would see what you receive when they turn off your Sky before paying out for a card.
Hope this helps.
so basically i wont get freeview through a dish, only aerialYes, but only if you have a decent aerial signal.
