Fancy a visit to the Pavilion with the wife and sprogs tomorrow. Where is the best place to park nearby that won't cost an arm and a leg?

Churchill square is probably your best bet and walk down - steer clear of Russell Road it's expensive.

Suppose you could park at Marina for free and get the Volks Train down and back kids love that x

Definitely park for free at Brighton Marina, buy some cheap drinks & nibbles in Asda then hop along the coast on the cheap but fun Volks Railway:

Home page of VERA - Volks Electric Railway Group

Volks Railway - Brighton Hove City Council

Much more fun day out for them than just a trip to the Pavilion.

''The Volks Railway opens every year from Easter to the end of September, trains run every day until the end of the season weather permitting.

Trains start at 10.15am (except Monday and Fridays when they start at 11.15am). Trains run every 15 minutes after starting at half past, quarter to, on the hour and quarter past until the last train of the day.

The last trains are at 5pm Monday to Friday and at 6pm on weekends and bank holidays.

The train times are the starting times from the end stations, Aquarium Station and Black Rock (Marina) Station. The full train journey from Aquarium Station to Black Rock (Marina) Station takes about 12 minutes in total. Allow 30 minutes for a return journey.''

Also they could spend some time on the pier as well, and/or stop at Peter Pan's Playground if they are very young:

Peter Pan's Playground

If not wanting to do any of that and only visiting the Pavilion, then I would look for a Pay and Display space nearby, not a car park. Middle Street & East Street and other possible places are nearby if you are lucky enough to find a bay but only for 2 hours parking I think. Obviously don't even think about parking on the Seafront at the extortionate rates the Council reckon were a good idea...

My little girl loves going on Volks - she also loves the playground and crazy golf near Peter Pan's - and there is a cafe in the park too.

Silly old bat
Asda does have a time limit now, but I don't think the cinema car park does.
Just straight in and out with no barrier.

You need to park on the east side of the Marina car park to leave it longer than 4 hours as the west side does have a time limit. Both are free.

Family + an OAP ticket on Volks is nearly as much as the parking!
