Oh hold on, I may have mis-read the question...

...not at all Truffle, but you have just highlighted how lame the majority of American sitcoms really are, none could hold a candle to Dads Army!

I think it lost it's 'edge' when Daphne and Niles, got it together.
From then on, it was just treading water until Kelsey Grammer, broke the TV character record.

Then again, I'm surprised it maintained the high standard, that it did, for as long as it did.

Never found it laugh out loud funny, but very pleasant if on in background.

That is a good one indeed. :)

Another few of my favourites are "The Ski Lodge", "Room Service", "A Midwinter Night's Dream", "The Innkeepers" and "Daphne Does Dinner".

Is it still going? Excellent show. Was always funny.

Finished a few years back.

In the end, Martin got married, Daphne & Niles got married and had a baby and in the last episode, Frasier moves to Chicago to try for a relationship with a woman he's been seeing in Seattle.

Nope, as I mentioned, they dragged the character over 'the line' to be the longest running, ever. The swiftly called it a day.

I was particulary snooty about Frasier - I am a huge fan of Cheers and didn't want it to be any good.

I watchd it properly a couple of years ago and although it's not a patch on Cheers, it is a different style of comedy and it does it very well. Niles was great and was surprised he didn't go onto to bigger and better things. Though he is in Hellboy but in a super fish costume!

I started watching Frasier fairly recently, it is pure hilarity!

I could sit in front of Paramount for hours watching it.

Has anyone seen the clips on Paramount before they go to the adverts? They're all set on BRIGHTON beach. One is of the little mad man holding a match-stick with the West Pier burning in the background.

Frasier is good, but Friends is the business.

It's very easy watching.

I shouldn't like it but I do.

Niles and Frasier are excellent characters.

I love the episode where they blag their way into an "exclusive" day spa they can't get enough of, until they find their membership doesn't entitle them to everything Gold membership would, at which point they decide it is absolutely rubbish.

Laughing at snobs is funny.

IMHO Cheers was the absolute peak of American sitcoms - loved it because all the characters were losers who seemed to manage to keep on losing! Norm is an absolute hero!

...but not quite as funny as Father Ted!

Fraiser is my favourite American comedy. All the characters are superb. Favourite one would be Niles. Rumours have it that a Fraiser movie is being drafted up. I will try and find a link if I can...

One of my favourite sitcoms, and it's certaintly a comedy you will only get if you have some intelligence!

Another good thing about it, is that 2 of the main characters are English!

Er, there were 2 BoF.

The show went on for 11 seasons, that's too much for just the one doggie actor.

Um, there's East Grinstead's finest, who was the highest paid British actress in the world, who else?
