Precisely this. I back us to win football matches against teams that play football against us.

It’s getting through those teams that sit back with a bank of four and a bank of five where we just don’t have the muscle to break through, or the guile to lure them out of position.
I think that our major failing against teams that sit back is the number of goals that we concede to them on the break. Scoring against them doesn’t seem to be the main issue.

I’m not so sure, I agree that we get over-excited at times and push everybody up to try and force a chance, then get done on the break.

However, if we were successful and scored goals, losing the odd goal on the break would be seen as an annoyance rather than a points-losing issue.

The issue (to my mind) is that we concede on the break without having scored, and then face a solid wall of opposition players without being able to find a way through.

I’m with @Nobby Cybergoat on this one, that either the ball or our players need enough speed of movement to unsettle the opposing defence, and as good as we are, we’re not always good enough to achieve this. PL standard defences are pretty miserly.
