Is it me or is this one of the more brainless suggestions given that he is out on loan and cannot return before January at the earliest?

Well it was made by one of the most brainless posters on the entire board, who still, after all this time, doesn't understand the way we play and would rather we hoofed it up to the big lad up front, so it's no surprise. And we all know full well that if Gus threw JFC in at the deep end then morons like mutts nuts would be the first to be getting on his back and saying he wasn't up to it, etc etc. It's just lucky that these dinosaur, idiot fans are in the minority these days, and that most people understand what Gus is trying to do.

Has anyone got any feed back from Oxford fans on how young jfc is getting on

I speak to an Oxford fan infrequently, more often since the JFC move though, and he thinks he is class. He seems to think the general opinion is that he's got the ability as well as ambition to play the attacking midfield role and is a real prospect. He says everyone seems really pleased and suprised at how well he defends and tackles as well as attacking.

Just hope he can become more consistent. Shame about his sending off last season, a run in the team would have done him a world of good..

It just isn't going to happen. Unfortunately for Sparrow, he lacks the positional intelligence of Dicker to play the supporting role for Bridcutt, and Crofts will play every game when fit. I think Dicker is a far superior player in our team than people realise but not slagging anyone off. I just think Gus plays the game in a totally different way to what we're used to and I still think we don't really understand the jobs that Dicker and Barnes, in particular, are instructed to do. Whatever they are, we've won a league and then come 10th in the second tier since we've been doing it. I like Sparrow and think he is a great player, but doesn't really suit our style. He is a brilliant option to have to change the shape of a game however, and I hope he is sold on the idea of being a luxury contributor.

He may or may not be better than Dicks & Spaz, but either way he would not be getting many games - which is what he needs right now.

Talent is talent Jake has more of it in his little toe than Dicker has in his whole body,no disrespect to Gary but he is not good enough for this division, with Jake in place of Dicker we have another goal scoring midfielder,to quote Gus goals win games.18 is easily old enough to play a game of football once or twice a week ffs.How old was Owen on his debut for England by the way

Given up slagging off our strikers and moved on to midfielders?

Is there anyone in the side who gets your seal of approval?

Personally I think spaz is a lot better than a lot of people give him credit for, chipping in with goals every now and then. Jfc is a player with a hell of a lot of potential, but at the moment that's all it is. A while away playing in a competitive league will do him good. He is the future, not the present.

If Sparrow hadn't been sent off in those two games, I doubt he would have been out of the sixteen.
If Dicker hadn't got injured, I doubt he would have been out of the sixteen.

If Caskey plays 20/30 odd games for Oxford and really impresses, then comes back in six months time, it will be like a new signing and won't cost a penny and could still have a major say in our coming campaign. Could turn out to be a masterstroke.

I assume you mean the same Michael Owen who's career was effectively over by 25, because his body couldn't hack it anymore due to playing too much, too young? (He's admitted this himself).

The days of us throwing any youth team prospects in at the deep end and watching them fail, every time, and end up playing for Eastbourne Borough are, thankfully, over.

We're a proper club now and do things the right way. I honestly don't know why you bother watching Brighton, you've said enough times that you don't understand the way we play, you don't like Dicker, you don't like Sparrow, you don't like Gus etc etc. Why don't you go and watch Crawley instead? You'd understand the way they play a lot more and their manager is definitely more to your taste.

Dicker not good enough for the Championship??? The same Dicker who played 38 games in a Championship side that finished 10th last season? REALLY?
Look, piece of advice, don't become a football scout.
Dicker didn't play 38 games last season.

Hopefully he plays that many or more this season though. :clap2:
