Former nicknames of league clubs

That bird-related club league got me thinking about nicknames of clubs that either have been formally altered or simply fallen into disuse. Off the top of my head I can think of:

Brighton - The 'Brovians' or 'Dolphins'
Chelsea - The 'Pensioners'
Crystal Palace - The 'Glaziers'
Sunderland - The 'Rokerites'

Can you think of any of the others?

Yeah, fair enough, it still is used.

My source was a mate who's an Everton supporter who says that only old people refer to them as the Toffees - must be an awful lot of old people around

No,we were the Shrimps...Southend were and still are the Shrimpers...a bit like us being the Seagulls and Torquay being the Gulls.

Not really though, as a shrimper is someone who catches shrimps and a shrimp is, well, a shrimp.

Pretty sure people still call Reading the biscuitmen too, given that their version of NSC is called "Hob Nob anyone?"

...even though the McVities factory closed down some years ago.

Seeing as it's my posting name I'll answer that, Yes it's a portmanteau word of BRighton and hOVe albION - so should be Brovions not Brovians. It was invented by the supporters' club in the 1950s and inexplicably didn't catch on. Don't understand why. Brovions! Brovions!

'The Lillywhites' for Fulham is a bit old school. More common for Spurs

Norwich City the club's original nickname was the Citizens
