Former Albion trainee Russell Martin has been made Peterborough captain at just 22 years old, he only joined them in the summer from Wycombe.

Shame how we let him get away, he's always looked useful when I've seen him play and I remember he was a class above when I played against him at Varndean College.

Ooh. I played against him a few months ago up at Varndean when he was down to visit family... he's a bit good

Think he left because BHA wouldn't let him do A levels and get a scholarship, and Wycombe would. Has happened this year too, maybe we are missing out of players because of this

Seems strange as we are a community minded club with a lot of emphasis on education

Daft really.
Waaaayyyyyyyyy back in the 70's, Man U. even let Coppell finish a degree.
We really should be a bit more open minded if it means we lose talent.

After all, if a player wants to get an education, then fair play to him.
