Yep, total manufacturing of atmosphere. When a goal is scored, safe to say we've got the atmosphere covered.

I think Hockey is SO fast and goals SO often that you have to do it:
a) because Americans have a notoriously low attention span
b) to let people know that there's been a goal. The puck isn't easy to follow or see if it crosses the line.
c) when there's 5+ goals regularly in games, each one isn't that special so atmosphere is required.
and d) there's no segregation and no real chanting or "banter" between fans
apparently the club sent an email to season ticket holders to vote yes or no. But lots of folks didnt get any email, so obviously didnt get to vote. we don't need it, we won plenty of things without needing goal music. we also don't need Mull of Kintyre, that makes me cringe as well.

Good god NO!...The best sound is the cheering of the fans...can't stand goal music...especially that stupid 'Tom Hark'....(apologies to the NSC poster..)

I find 7 Nation Army and Chelsea Dagger to be worse. But yeah, it's always shit.
At least palace are boycotting it this season. By default.
