Forest for the drop?

A few years ago, when Forest were at the bottom of the Prem, they were considered a club 'too good to go down'. We all know what happened then, and I wonder if they're about to do the same in this league. The symptoms look familiar - too many narrow defeats and an inability to come back once they go behind (West Ham excepted). Yesterday they apparently had the better of the second half against Millwall - who were even reduced to 10 men for the last 15 mins.

If we could chalk off Forest and Rotherham already then it would be a tremendous boost for our survival chances. I'm very confident of our chances of finishing above Gillingham - and even Cardiff look like they'll struggle all season. Perhaps our upcoming games against Crewe (both without Cullip) won't be so critical after all?

I think Forest also have players missing so would expect them to pull away eventually - I think there season is mirroring last season. Rotherham look dead certs. Crewe should not be underestimated, they are everyones tip for relagation each year so are no strangers to there current situation, I think they also have 2 wins on the bounce. A point there will be a great result. We are doing brilliantly but I feel we are going to need to be more of a threat in the final 3rd as the season goes to keep us out the dogfight.

Forest won't go down, they have enough quality in the team (Johnson, Reid, Dawson) to stay in this division.

Rotherham, Crewe and Gillingham are my main contenders for the drop, although Preston might struggle over the Christmas period as they don't have a great deal of strength in depth.

Either way, I think it will go down to the last game of the season to determine whether we stay up or not.

Im still thinking it will be Us, Rotherham, Crewe, Gillingham, Cardiff, Coventry, Derby, Forest and Preston who will go into the final 1/4 of the season all at risk.

The more points we can pick up before Xmas the better!

Forest won't go down, they have enough quality in the team (Johnson, Reid, Dawson) to stay in this division.

Last time it was Keane, Walker, Pearce et al but they still went down. I think their problem is that, although they have a lot of talent, they don't have much mental strength. Losing becomes a habit and it's very difficult to break. Even when they get their missing players back they'll find themselves in a team lacking confidence and with teammates that seem to go missing when the chips are down.

Rotherham, Gillingham and Crew for me. Forest and Cardif will start to pull clear. As for us I think we will be more then okay.

I can't see Forest slipping, although if they fail to recover substantially by January, they could be in trouble as Reid goes to Spurs - he was their main danger. I think Crewe know how to survive, and have an excellent young team.

Gillingham are as good as gone if their recent performances are anything to go by - they look very weak, and Rotherham will struggle.

However, it's the lack of a third clear contender that worries me - Cardiff will surely recover, and who will the last place be?

cardiff can buy there way out of trouble as can forest if they sell reid or dawson.

I think Crewe have got too many goals in them to go down.

Right now Rotherham look doomed, and Gillingham look shaky. Crewe will struggle but they have Dean Ashton - hopefully someone will buy him soon, and then they could be in trouble.

You would expect Forest, Cardiff and Cov to rise clear of the danger zone in due course. The season has yet to take its toll on those with small squads, so the more points we can pick up now the better.

tipped Forest for the drop a while ago and still think they will struggle. their best player does not want to play for them anymore and I understand that there is a lot of unrest in the forest camp.

would like for them to stay up for Cloughie though

didn't they say that sheffield wednesday and man. city were too good to drop down to the equivalent of div 3

forest are in the same league as those 2 clubs IMHO so who knows.
they wouldn't be the first.
