I see they've made a bid for Pollitt, the Rotherham goalkeeper. An interesting move considering he's been one of their few stars this season and they're playing them on Saturday. Even if they don't get him it'll certainly unsettle Rotherham ahead of the game.

Maybe this is how they plan to use the money from Reid and Dawson - bid for the star players of their upcoming opponents.

Pollitt is great, but Gerrard is better. Does this mean that Gerrard is also on his way out?

Not surprisingly the bid has been rejected! According to the story on the Beeb website he was only going to be signed to strengthen the squad.

I doubt much of that £8 million will be available for trying to buy their way out of relegation. Forest have their own money toubles as I recall.

Forest have £15 million of debt. Most of the £8 million will go to servicing that.

I can't understand why they'd want to do that. Gerrard's probably the best keeper in this division, however good Pollitt is. Perplexing.

The 8 million is split up

2 million up front
2 million at the end of the season
and the other 4 million is based on appearances

so they haven't got that much yet

that tells you that it is goung to be used to service debt .. it appeases the bank as they know a regular payment income is being produced

in effect the bank have taken spurs name instead of notts forest as a better credit risk
