7 Chelsea 2–3 Crystal Palace 14 February 1976

1975 /76 cup run took palace to the Semi's where they lost 2-0 to Stains

BUT Do recall Jimmy Hill doing his pious self rightous sermon after the Chelsea palace game was shown on the telly where the camera focussed on behind the goal and about 15 lads were slugging it out, with people all around peering past them trying to watch the footy. I recall a huge palace lad in a flat beret cap dishing it out!

I saw the semi-final game live - I was visiting a friend in London and that looked a game to see. Just turn up and pay - happy days. Palace were not really rivals even then.

I stand corrected...he was certainly dishing it out and I always remember Jimmy Hill saying " we don't need that sort in our grounds"

I always remember danny baker doing a piece on this sort of thing on the 606 show , something along the lines of ' and this sort of thing has no place in football etc etc' when as danny said , 'a good off the ball chinning is EXACTLY what people want to see  , you're probably old enough to remember the franny lee , norman hunter punch up as seen on match of the day? it was the talk of the season at the time .

Yes remember it well. They swapped blows....were sent off and half way back to the dugouts Franny Lee set about him again. It was about time Norman Hunter got his comeuppance..he was a grade 1 thug.

Never seen Stamford Bridge as packed as it was that day, seem to recall there were even people sitting in front of the small wall at the shed end.

Was`Sean the one doing what Jimmy Hill called the kung fu kicking?
