Unless Cameron actually comes up with an idea to help young people.

It will be my first time vote as well.

I am very disappointed in the Conservatives.

Might I suggest you wait till the election date is announced, at which points the major parties will roll out their manifestos and you can make a proper decision.

Oh yeah, of course. But the Conservatives have a lot to prove what they intend to do to help people. I'm not with all the protecting our heritage and culture anymore, I used to be, I firmly believe you have to move with the times.

It's worrying that you are old enough to vote, you act like your 9.

This current 'government' is the most inept, incompetent, deceitful and corrupt since Noah built his ark. Apart from the vast army of people on their payroll, whether public servants (mainly being paid for with borrowed money) or dole merchants, how anyone could contemplate voting them back in is way beyond comprehension.

If the cable guy was in charge i'd be voting for him because he's quality. Unfortunately he's not so i'll prob opt for Labour. Cons can f*** off!

Agree re the cable guy. However, Labour have to go. They have precided over the biggest economic cockup in history. Its not something which 'started in America'. Just because they were running towards the cliff edge did not mean we had to follow. Anyone with even a basic knowlege of economics should have seen that and put policies in place accordingly. Instead, Blair and Brown chose to ride the popularity wave that the apparent wealth created. However ineffective the opposition, Labour have to be thrown out for gross incompetence.

Oh dear, another political thread.

Look, all politicians are tossers, you just have to figure out who will screw up the country the least, and go with that

and what is Labour doing to help young people? i mean real help, not headline statements.

fact is "the young" are a very low priority group because in a few years time they aren't young any more.

Easy to think about voting them back in when you look at the alternatives. You obviously don't remember previous conservative governments

And what if this country ends up with a lost generation of unskilled workers with no prospects who are all on the dole?

Probably because the alternative is David Cameron!!!!

So, here we have the dilemma
beorhthelm = hates Labour, no matter what they do - has probably always been a Tory
HH Brighton = hates the Tories, no matter what they do - has probably always been a Labour voter
1066gull=trying to make sense of the other two, but doesn't trust Cameron

good luck making an objective decision folks!

Some good points AT. I'm talking about voting Labour cos i come from a traditional Labour voting family. But that isn't really why i'd vote them. I can see they are already making steps to repair the country, Lloyds said a few days ago they expect to turn a profit this year. How fantastic after losing billions. And cons were in favour of it all going to the wall. They made the mess and i'd like to see them make things good again.

Although I'm 22, this will be my first vote in the General Election. Swaying between Tories and Lib Dems at the moment.
