Only 3 times as long! 60 mins of playing time normally takes about 3 hours. They breaks are part of the rhythm, especially on TV it gives you a chance to re-live the play as there's always loads of things you've missed.

One of our games lasted over 6 hours - it was ridiculous!!!

Never been particularly interested in American football, but that 4th quarter of the steelers game had me on the edge of my seat. Classic entertainment.

And I know I'm talking from the most ill-informed position ever, but I don't know how you can say Manning is a choker. His 4th quarter performance was mega, the pass for the extra two points after the touchdown looked pretty impressive, as was his one for Clarke's touchdown.

(Apologies for sounding like an American talking about our football, haven't quite worked out how to say what I mean when talking about the American game!)

Fair enough points about Manning last night. I spose its not so much fair to call Manning a choker as it is to label the whole Colts organisation since he joined chokers.

Their playoff record under Manning I think is now something like 3-9, and they've yet to get as far as a Conference Championship game. Whereas during the regular season they've pretty much consistently had 10-6 or better seasons. Basically under Manning's leadership over the last 8 years, the Colts have clearly been one of the better sides in the NFL, and have often gone into the playoffs as favourites, but always ended up losing. Thats what I mean when I call him a choker, its not so much a dig at his personal performance - its a bit of a reputation he's gained in the NFL.

One of your games as in Southampton Stags? How on earth did you manage that?!?!

We're normally done by just over 2 hrs, I think the longest we've been out on the field was against Staffs this year, probably about 3 and a half hrs after 4 unsuccessful periods of overtime...

I don't understand why their tough football fans don't like rugby and their statto baseball fans don't like cricket. Both our sports are more interesting although i like it when they throw their oval ball forwards over long distances whilst their teammates 'take out' opponents all around them.

Enjoy the victory over the Colts because it's your last one of the season.

As a long standing Broncos fan we will beat you on Sunday as we have a hard hitting, turnover producing defence who can adapt to your game better than the Colts, we have a quarterback whose finally learned that you don't ave to try for the big play every time, three running backs who offer a challenge to any defensive line and the legendary Rod Smith as a receiver.

Let's Go Broncos, Let' Go!

I thought Nick Halling did well to try and remain objective when you tell that as a Steelers fan he was seething.

Hope the blonde Canadian bloke does the Conference games next weekend as he is a Bronco - would make interesting viewing with Halling sitting opposite.

As someone who has spent the last 20 years watching sport in America each year whilst on trips over there(Baseball, college football, high school football, the NFL during my early years untill I'd been and seen a few games and realised how crap the atmosphere is and how false it all is.
Peyton Manning never won squat as a Tennessee QB,good though he was the Vols won a national title two years after he left.
Class bloke though.
Although a Redskin fan since early eighties and having seen a game against the Steelers at RFK got to now shout for the Seahawks as have friends in wonderful Seattle(favorite place in America)and saw 'the birds' play in Kingdome.
Meet Nick Halling at non-league game a few years ago in the New Forest(Bashley).
NFL fans unlike college football supporters can't sit still for two minutes with out getting-up to eat or drink something.
NFL playoffs are exciting, regular season a bore.

Honestly mate, just shut up.

I think you'll find the reason that their fans don't like rugby is because they're not even slightly exposed to it. Most American American (does that make sense?) Football fans I know respect rugby immensely when they see it, a lot of them see it as much tougher than their own game. I'm fed up of the constant rivalry/comparisons between the two.

Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Boomer Esaison...plenty don't. Elway was one of the best ever, but would never have come close if it wasn't for Mike Shanahan putting together one of the best sides in NFL history right near the end of his career.

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NFL said the referee made a mistake: Troy Polamalu caught the ball.

The league acknowledged Monday that referee Pete Morelli erred when he overturned on replay Polamalu's interception of a Peyton Manning pass Sunday in the playoff game between Pittsburgh and Indianapolis.

Mike Pereira, the league's vice president of officiating, said in a statement that Morelli should have let the call on the field stand.

"He maintained possession long enough to establish a catch," Pereira said. "Therefore, the replay review should have upheld the call on the field that it was a catch and fumble."

After the reversal, made with 5:26 left in Pittsburgh's win over the Colts, Indianapolis went on to score a touchdown and a 2-point conversion, cutting the Steelers' 21-10 lead to 21-18. That led to a wild final few minutes, filled with unbelievable twists and turns, including Colts kicker Mike Vanderjagt's missed 46-yard field-goal attempt that clinched it for Pittsburgh.

On the play, Polamalu made a diving catch of Manning's pass, tumbled with it in his hands and got up to run. As he did, he fumbled the ball, then recovered. Colts coach Tony Dungy challenged the call, and Morelli ruled Polamalu had not completed the catch.

Meanwhile, we await the Football League's apology for D'Arso's error on Saturday. . .

That was possibly the worse call i have seen in a football game! The only reason it was challenged was out of desperation by Dungy.

Done get me started on D'Urso.

I cant see Manning being any more of a Vanderjagt fan after last night!
I don't understand why he didn't let Vanderjagt kick for goal when he got down to the 30 yard line with a few seconds remaining. (Given their field position, he was unlikely to risk an interception going for a winning TD) Instead, the next two plays cost them yardage and he ended up kicking from 46yards - very missable, even if you wouldn't have expected him to miss by such a wide margin.

I think its cos there was a fair amount of time left. Also they needed a TD for a win and a field goal for OT. With the current state of OT its just like tossing a coin so it was worth going for the win.

I don't exactly remember the intricacies last few plays of the game as I was quite drunk at the time, but you have to remember that standard rule is a field goal attempt is the yard line they're on + 17yrds. Therefore logically the ball was on the 29 when they kicked the field goal.

But like I say, I don't remember.
