Deco used to smoke 2 or 3 packs a day until he was in his thirties, then he cut down to 20 a day.

Hardly suprising that people with more money than sense and a lot of free time on their hands smoke. They also gamble would you believe!!!

Agree don;t really get smoking in general. There will be loads of examples of great footballers who smoke, especially from 20+ years ago (try watching a game from the 60s, lots of quality but a hell of a lot slower) but suppose the question is could they have been even better? Prosinecki, great player, but he was playing for Portsmouth in the second tier in England at the age of 31...

I once saw Dennee Mundee smoking outside the team bus after Mansfield away in the late nineties. We really were shit 15/20 years ago.

That guy was a chain smoker, would go through 40-60 a day
