Paul Jewell moaning that he could not afford CMS this summer:

BBC Sport - Paul Jewell could not afford Craig Mackail-Smith

Hmmmm. So how much are they paying Jimmy Bullard then?

Derby day in the Prem:
Spurs v Arse
Bindippers derby

What are your picks there? I'll go for Spurs to win a close one, and the blue bin-dippers to sneak past Dinosaur Kenny's team.

Talking of derbies, it is also Fulham v QPR, for what it's worth.

The thing about CMS is that IF we don't make the Prem within a couple of years, he will move to a club there anyway, and we will have sold him for a decent profit.

Not a risky investment.

Tres amusant. Such a sensational derby that Fulham, as usual, have been prostituting themselves in both The Metro and The Evening Standard's small ads trying to drum up ticket sales for this fixture.

In terms of random football thoughts - would it be worth trialling a ball three times the size of the current standard ball for all forthcoming Premiership fixtures?

Maybe when he say's they couldn't afford him, he means in the context of the price for a player who, bar one season, is unproven at this level. Whereas they had Bullard on-loan, he is a proven Premier League performer and they knew exactly what they were getting to could justify the price

Spurs will beat Arsenal easily, Warnock will do something outrageous in that Fulham v QPR game and can see Everton picking off Liverpool as well

fulham v qpr is not really a derby

Fulham's derby is against Chelsea and QPR don't have one

In a couple of years time he will be 30, dont think we would get a massive fee for a 30 year old

And over on the QPR and Fulham boards, I am sure there are spats breaking out between fans of either team, where one tries to convince the other that this game matters less to his fans than the other - "We don't care about you - it's all about the scum for us"

The scum being Chelsea of course, and the ridiculous irony being that Chelsea supporters don't give a toss about either of them.

and can see Everton picking off Liverpool as well
Of course one thing we can count on, is that when this team goes to pot, and they end up midtable by Christmas, none of it will be King Kenny's fault, according to Liverpool fans, who as we all know are the most loud, knowledgable and friendliest on the planet.

It will be the fault of Roy Hodgson. And the bloke who has forked out the £100m transfer kitty.

Personally, I think he's here for the rest of his career. Unless he absolutely tears up this division, he'll be seen as being too old for a Premiership team to sign, when he's never played at that level before. And if he DOES tear this division up, he'll be playing premiership football for us.

This summer was his big move, and that's why I was so genuinely chuffed that WE got him, when I thought he was aiming for the Premiership, and failing that would take the move that he felt would most likely get him promoted to the Premiership. And in his view, that is us.

Paul Jewell is always moaning about something. How much must their ex-Premier League midfielders Jimmy Bullard, Keith Andrews, Grant Leadbitter and Lee Bowyer cost in wages?

I'm not sure he was moaning I got the impression that he thought CMS was overpriced.

He certainly appeared to be moaning in that tabloid sting where he was caught going over the side with some lady or other...

I can never think of him now without recalling the image of his blubbery naked body exposed on camera for all to see while he "pleasured" ((c) Every Tabloid Ever) himself :nono:
