Football Finance - and it's idiots like this .....

Even if you intend on spending 100's of millions what benefit do you get from telling everyone?

Why do rich men own football clubs? Vanity.

Yes, but how much have the Man. City owners put into the club since they bought it?

They weren't exactly rushing up the table in the previous ex amount of years when they were owned by a mere mortal! Lol

I think if the rumours are correct, and Tony Bloom is thinking of selling, there aren't many UK people with the money to be able to buy a 250 million pound club*

It's got to be an NFL team owner or bloody rich Middle-Eastern type that would be the buyer!

* - Random figure plucked from the sky ;-)

What rumours? I missed that one.

If he gives his money to the Club - that is one thing. But what if it is a loan ? Leicester saddled with massive debt for the sake of a person's ego.

He has converted over £100 million of debt into shares.

(TB has converted about £30 million BTW)

Whether cash injected (to cover losses) by owners is converted into equity or not, losses greater than a certain level, accounts are now examined by UEFA and if deemed in breach of FP, sanctions are taken against clubs.

So based on the quoted figures, Leicester wouldn't be permitted into European competitions.

UEFA's review includes an expert look at income from sources such as sponsorship and advertising from related parties. They know the market values that clubs such as ManC, Monaco or even Leicester could command from such sources - if excessive, they simply score it down in their audit for FFP. So 'clever' moves, may not be so clever.
