Bournemouth used to sing Sweet Molly Malone. Also, way back in the late 60's, used to sing We Shall Overcome, which I always thought was quite stirring in a football context.

Apart from GOSBTS, the most memorable song for me (old timer) was Spurs' Glory Glory Hallelujah which was belted out by 50 to 60k people at WHL, particularly on big European nights in the early to mid-sixties. Went there in 1964 and saw Jimmy Greaves, my all time football hero score a hat trick against Blackburn Rovers and the tune still sends shivers down my spine ! I believe Man U tried to pinch the tune more recently. Also - in the eighties I think, Tottenham always used to run out to MacNamara's Band (they had a large Irish coningent in the side in those days)

We still run out to it , for the second half anyway.
'Oh when the Spurs' is Spurs', only team to sing it properly.Stoke have tried to copy it, but still do it too quickly.

Used to hear it a bit back in the early 2000s.

Can't get it off work unfortunately. Would be all over it otherwise.

Now that could be a bit of a larf. As well as playing on the gay thing, this would actually sound good from a large crowd.

Let's have some lyrics then!

Hmm you could be onto something - not sure it's a gay tune though.

Here's the original lyrics for reference:

Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
[ Lyrics from: Don't Stop Believin' Lyrics - Journey ]
(Chorus)
Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlights people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night.

Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

(Chorus)

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlights people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on
Streetlight people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlights people
