Football as soap opera

One of the blokes at work has just said that the only reason men are into football is because it's the male equivalent of a soap opera and gives men something to talk about down the pub.

He also says that women who say they like football only do so because they want to sleep with men who like football.

I'm sure a few people on this board would have something to say about that.

I like football because I just do....although couldn't imagine going out with a guy who didn't - just doesn't make sense to not have things in common....

I should point out that he's the resident techie who's thoroughly pissed off with everyone else around him talking about football and cricket all day.

All the sports, bar two, are absent today - hence his little outburst.
