I'm no EXPERT on such things, but unless you kept a sample of the pasty for testing, then it is not possible to categorically define the source of your bug.

I would report this incident to BHCC's Environmental Health team/dept, including any observations of the cleanliness etc of food outlet and the medical advice/opinion given by your GP.

Brighton Hove City Council - enquiries and complaints

I've had a dodgy stomach after having a burger there before and have heard the same from others. I don't think the keep the food hot enough. There could be major final implications for the club if you complain to the above. So I would say something to the club directly along the lines of "you do realise the food they're serving down there is dodgy, right?"

I've felt a bit suspect after eating some of the stuff from the Withdean too. I'd tell the club NOT the council. That was they can have a go rather than just getting fined..

Sorry, don't agree with either of you. The EH dept will determine whether there is a problem and, if they find one, sort it; surely the only concern is to ensure that the food being sold is safe - people die of food poisoning.
I believe the catering at Withdean is franchised so BHA is not involved in the running of these outlets.

Can someone confirm this? Not that I doubt you!

I have got to be particularly desperate for a bite to eat to buy food at Withdean.

Have some lunch before you leave the house.
Have a bite to eat in the pub.
Stay hungry till you get home.

All viable, infinitely preferable options for me. Eating hot food at Withdean should always, without fail, be considered a LAST RESORT. It is overpriced, semi-heated, mass-produced muck, and it never ceases to amaze me how many fans happily shell out for it.

I'm not sure how the food franchise, deal or whatever it is, is worked out but if it is on a percentage of takings (rather than a one-off fee) then the pub is going to get my money all the time.
The food served at Withdean is UTTER SHITE and the vendors should be kicked out/up the arse til they start doing decent grub, nothing fancy, merely tasty and safely edible.

I don't trust the food since I bought a burger that tasted predominantly of burnt sausage fat (from north stand catering van), clean up your act both figuratively and literally.

Bleeding unprofessional rip off merchants...apart from the ice cream van which is priced the same as most others I've seen.

There is a tuck truck that goes round Bug Hole trading estate, they could teach that bunch of chancers at Withdean exploiting a captive market a thing or two about politeness, cleanliness and cooking basic hot grub.

It always amazes me people getting burgers and chips at half-time on a Saturday. Do people normally eat at this time the rest of the week??

I can't imagine being half-way through a set of accounts this afternoon and feeling the need to nip off for a burger and chips. It's Fat Britain Gone Mad!

The only thing I've eaten at Withdean that was hot and considered slightly edible was a bacon & sausage baugette I bought out of desperation at my last game, But at £4.50 it should've been.

I had a burger at Withdean a few years ago and SWEAR that there was a HAIR sticking out of it. Probably HORSE

Never again.

Anyone buying hot food at Withers is asking for trouble IMO

Eating at football is WRONG - it removes space that would otherwise be used for CIDER

The whole atmosphere at Withdean would improve dramatically if they done away with the food outlets and replaced them with cider outlets, Any match is a good match when you've got a Westons Organic in your hand. :drink:

Exactly the right comments here why there is any requirement to have to eat a burger / pie at a footie match is beyond me.

If you really must have to eat then buy a sandwich elswhere and take it into the ground FFS

And please advise me of a major league ground in the UK where you can drink alcohol and watch the game at the same time ?
