When I last went to the Old Den, the Southampton fans were fighting amongst themselves on the terraces in a noticeable way. Not just one incident either. At least two mass brawls and a smaller skirmish. One incident may have to do with Albion fans being in the Southampton bit, but not all of them.

I .

presumably the nice peace loving Milwall fans were perfectly happy then

Whoops a boob there: the Old Dell.

At the Old Den, I was advised by some Millwall supporters to avoid the empty area behind one of the goals as there are "nutters" there. This has a whole new meaning to the word "nutter". Sure enough just after half-time the Police arrived and hauled the offender away after he was shouting obscenities (mostly "Kill the Ref") and waving his arms about for an hour non-stop*. It was the waving his arms bit that meant the piece of terrrace normally available for a half dozen fans could only be occupied by one. I hear it is civilised at the Den now. Do they still sell the rotten chestnuts?

* I expect he wondered what actual words caused him to be removed. Maybe when he referred to the ref as a black bastard, although the referee had a white complexions but a black kit.
