How can Zamora come above Ward, Lawrenson and Horton? And that's from me who never saw these three play!

Have to agree, and I saw all of them play.

No surprise with the the results really - most people who bother to vote in these things are of the younger generation.

I think that explains this rather strange results.

Captain: Nobby
Player: Ward
Season: 78/79
Manager: Mullery (with honourable mentions to Stevie Gritt for keeping us alive and Jimmy Melia for getting us to a cup final)

This will do, may I add Mark McGee who took us to Cardiff and kept us up on half a shoestring and Micky Adams who assembled a squad which produced back to back championships

Surely the best manager was Peter Taylor (the first one), but he wasn't even available to vote for?

I'd agree with most on the others, though; Horton, Ward, 1978/79.

This is what happens with a multiple choice selection , the result could have been very different if voters had to think for themselves and nominate for each category.

Good to know that most of the people on here are sensible (when they're not flaming the 5hit out of each other...) and see that first achievement of a trip to Division 1 as the pinnacle of what we've achieved so far.

Poyet? Good grief... :shit:

Horton.
Ward.
78/79.
Mullery.

I wasn't around then, but history/folklore tells us that those are the correct results.

In my time I'd have gone for;

Wilson.
Nelson.
87/88.
Cattlin.

Player : Ward (Peter)

Captain : Horton

Manager : Pat Saward

Season : 1971/72.

The result at the core of this post is total dross, and yes, I do allow it's a matter of opinion. See below.

Yes, I thought that LI. No begrudging mention of Mr Ego. I wonder why!?

I bet our poor guy writing this up for the website must have had his head in his hands when he saw both Poyet and Oatway as winners :D

Other winners not to make the Offy site report:

Best sending off: Tanno

Best fan-bought player: Colin Kazim-Richards

Best life president: Dick Knight
