Ipswich have signed Charlton's transfer-listed defender Mark Fish on a month's loan following a trial spell.

South African international Fish, who has been capped 60 times for his country, will be a replacement for the injured Jason De Vos.

The 31-year-old spent five years at The Valley, playing in 101 games, but made only six appearances last season.

Town boss Joe Royle told the club website: "He hasn't had much pre-season football but will start against QPR."

Understandable that he would rather have a trial there then here, but why lie to us?

Stop it, you're giving me a haddock. :jester:

Bad signing, dodgy knees, slow and a thug. So glad we have the boy McShane instead.

Chances are he will play one get and pick up an injury. Sounded like the guy is just carrying too many little injuries from the past to be reliable enough for us.

Paul McShane sounds like a much better signing.

The first time I looked at the thread title, I thought you wanted to take a placard with a fish on it to Portman Rd.

Mark Fish. The new Lorenzo Pinamonte.

At the time, we really wish we needed him, but thankfully we didn't get him and got a much better player instead. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
