I love friday fish and chips (and a can if dandelion and burdock)... My Gf thinks I'm weird because I smother it in chippy curry sauce, whilst she only has salt and vinegar and a tiny splodge of tomato sauce. She also insists on lager shandy as her accompanying drink of choice...

So, who's right and who's wrong!

Whilst I admire your eclectic tastes… curry sauce should NEVER, I repeat NEVER be had with fish & chips!

Chips on their own, or with a sausage or saveloy maybe… Fish NEVER!

I have to disagree. The major setback at the LP though is the Chinese couple that run the place still can't speak much English.

we are lucky in saltdean that we have this dilemma. no true saltdeaner will ever admit that the captains table is not the best chippy in town though. we might stop at woodingdean fish bar or telscombe if pushed, but the lobster pot is a post Spanish convinence chippy, nothing more.

Tell that to the endless queue of people in there every night from 6-8. Your right about it being convenient from stepping out the Spanish though. Get there at 9pm and you can haggle for what she has left.

People saying no to the curry sauce I would say have never tried it.

Its not like it's a madras sauce plus you get a choice of two chip shop or chinese.

Personally you are both correct but only you are correct on the choice of drink. D and b is the only drink that should be drunk with fish and chips.
