I would like to see Beckham dropped and Gerrard on the right with either Bent or Crouch partenering Owen but it won't happen.

But in that team they have Carrick behind them ( like Makelele & Alonso at their clubs ) and so they are not restricted with any defensive duties.

I've changed my mind. I would, I forgot that he now plays up front for Liverpool a fair bit this season.

In fact it's quite a tasty prospect. A good way of utilising two excellent players.
