All 'kids' have a second team. Indeed most Prem supporters will have a lower league backup team to support. Mine was Spurs in the 60's, either them or Chelsea in the first cup final I remember (was it 1966ish). But the first time we played them in a meaningful game my elegance was total to BHA.
Regarding Charlton, Went to the old valley once, checking the net I think it was the 1:2 victory in the 70's. The valley was just that, a massive hole in the ground that held 70,000 people although it was restricted by then to a few thousand.
