I don't think we'll be signing many players in the summer but I think they'll be a lot of churn with some loaned players gaining a squad place and some big, big sales. Mitoma to the Europa Cup winners, Pedro to Liverpool/Arsenal/Europa Cup winner/Chelsea, Adingra to Marseilles, Enciso to Atalanta/Napoli etc.

I suspect we'll start with something like this.

Players like Wieffer, Baleba, Kadıoğlu and Minteh could have massive seasons for us.

-------------------Verbruggen----------------------
New RB----JPvH-----------Webster----Estupiñán
------------Wieffer-----------Baleba---------------
Minteh------------Georginio-------------Kadıoğlu
---------------------Welbeck-----------------------

Rest of squad:

Steele
McGill
Veltman
Igor
Dunk
New CB
Buonanotte
Tzimas
Yalcouyé
Gomez
Hinshelwood
Ayari
O'Riley
Gruda
March
Osman

Sold:
Pedro
Mitoma
Enciso
Adingra
Sima
Barco
Sarmiento
Moran

Loaned:
Ferguson
Watson
Cozier-Duberry
Scherpen
Doyle

Edits:
Rushworth
Beadle
Do-Young
Cashin

Released - end of contract:
Offiah
Lamptey
Duffus

Retired:
Milner

They all are nowadays. Squad gets slowly but surely downgraded, infrastructure gets rapidly upgraded. Such is the life of a Selling Club. Them's the Albion Business Model rules. Absolutely nowt wrong with investing in bricks n mortar as a priority, it tends to hold its value through the bad times and the good. But weakening the overall squad quality, and in particular the core matchday squad, will come back to bite the club in the bum sooner rather than later

The squad is literally the strongest it’s ever been. How on earth can you claim it is being downgraded.

It's filling up with generic vanilla players, few of whom make a lot of difference to the starting eleven. Assuming there's a net outflow of talent over the Summer, next season could be seriously underwhelming. On the pitch at least. Tho taking the positives, there will probably be the ladies stadium plans on the table and a second bid for a hotel. Rejoice! Rejoice!

I doubt we'll sell Mitoma if Enciso and Joao Pedro are off too -- and I suspect they will be.
If that is the case, we'll need another CF; if Mitoma goes, we'll need another LW

I’m assuming from the OP that Rushworth and Beadle have disappeared off the face of the earth over the summer.
Both need first team football at this stage of their career in my opinion but I suppose that if we are to qualify for the Conference League, there may be enough minutes for one of them to have a meaningful season.

I hoped we might keep Enciso for the first half season, making everyone aware he's for sale in January. And then tag in a sell-on clause to the highest bidder.

I don't really think that's what's happening here. Our transfer business for about six successive years has been about one step back, two steps forward - starting with the sale of Bissouma. Think of the side that got to the cup semi against Man City - we could barely look after the ball against the very best. Our second XI these days is probably as good as our first XI back then.

We will continue to sell our players at the point at which they attract top dollar, as long as the player wants to go. Personally I'm fine with that if it means we continue to threaten the European places, go balls deep in cup competitions and finish in the top half nearly every year.
