Big (ish) fire in Queens Road at the mo

Either the old Casino, or the building next door (Can't tell from Here).

All Traffic going down Queens Road is being diverted down Trafalgar St.

Avoid the area if you can

Only noticed it about 15 mins ago, but Fire brigade were already there.


Traffic going up Queens road toward the station seem ok, traffic going down toweds clock ower is beig diverted.

there loads of ambulances buzzing around preston circus area around 12.30-1ish, too early i suppose for the fire. didn't notice it when i was in town earlier either

Saw a load of fire engines haring down Lewes Road by B&Q about 20 mins ago.

Apparently Queens Road is currently closed between North Street and Surrey Street (where the sex shop is for all you dirty minded ). So expect a bit of chaos around that area if you are in the vicinity.

It is in Quest house which is a LloydsTSB building housing a lot of IT staff. We got told in the office this afternoon when it started. No updates since then as I have finished for the day and sitting in doors with an ice cold beer

I saw it at 2.10pm when I'd sneaked into the Apple Mac store to get some free water from their water cooler.

I was worried it was The Albert that was on fire, but luckily not

The road was still closed about an hour ago - Fire was out, looked as though the top of the building (whichever one that was) had dissappeared, but my memory isn't that good, there might not have even been a top floor!
