Slightly off-topic, but I read The Ring earlier this week. Very good it was to, but quite different to the films. The main character was a male reporter, and Sadako was a hermaphrodite!

Really? I bought Ring the book yesterday. Will start reading it soon.
My house mate has just rented both versions of the movie too, so soon i will be able to do a definitive comparison of which is better: The book, the Japanese movie, or the American movie.
I lead an exciting life...

I found the book quite enjoyable, but the closest any of the films get to it is the Korean version called 'The Ring Virus'. That was a low-budget affair, and not very good, but it was far more faithful to the book than either the Japanese or the American versions!

Talking of books, but not films, although I think 1 was a dodgy TV drama.
Has anyone read any of the horror books writen by Peter James. He lives locally &, what I've read, are all centred around Sussex & the south east.

High Fidelity £6.99, get in, thanks for the reminder AP & RM.

No, but the last time I visited Brighton I bought a copy of a James Herbert book called The Others when I got off the coach in Cardiff. What I didn't know until I got back to the house and started to read it was that the book was set in Brighton, and the main character's office was situated a couple of minutes away from where I had been staying.

Spooky......
