Glad to see so many other people aren't fussed about the Lord of the Rings films. It's almost sacrilege to slate them in public these days.

I vaguely remember the first one, got dragged to the cinema against my better judgement for the second, during which I fell asleep. And I have no intention of seeing the third.

Guess I just don't like Fantasy, apart from Final Fantasy (the game not the film) and maybe the Fantasy Channel

I dont mind the LOTR films but they are no where near as good as some people make out.

I havent seen Matrix all the way through, nor have I seen any of the Bourne films

LOTR, The Deer Hunter and Scarface for me (criminally, I'd planned to watch a late night screening of Scarface at the Duke Of York's last Friday night but fell asleep in front of the telly at home and missed it)

Of the classics that so many people claim to have seen (but actually haven't), I can't believe nobody's not mentioned the Orson Welles double-whammy that is Citizen Kane and The Third Man.

Speaking of Orson Welles, here's the legend at work:

I'm with you New Carpet, never seen Scarface, tried to watch Citizen Kane once (because it is 'a classic') but, as with The Godfather, was bored senseless within 20 minutes.

I prefer Asian or East European mate.

You should try FRENCH from the 70's IMO. Especially those featuring Brigitte Lahaie. In this particular movie, she stars as a teacher in a French Finishing School, I STRONGLY recommend getting hold of Les Petites Ecolieres, and if you can't I will burn you a copy!

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I went to a pub on Christmas day about 6 years ago and they had a giant screen with Titanic playing on it. My brother and i played pool with an audience of zero as people onscreen drowned and screamed around us. I beat my sorry brother 7-0 over an hour or so and didn't really stare up once at the disaster movie i intend to never sit through.

If everybody has seen Police Academy 6 then i envy you all and the little Bubba Smith fanclub you're obviously then in, dressing as Bubba, his giant rod in your hand, his carefully-groomed moustache pertly sat on your possibly-dyed lips, his punching out of anyone down a flight of stairs after you fool them into racistly thinking you're a villain, his blatant off-screen relationship with the minute and characterless shouty woman who'll roar into action when you expose your prodded-up Li'l Bubba. All of you have what i want.
And i haven't seen Sunset Boulevard.
