Fifa 2007 set pieces help please

Hi, I am brought Fifa 07 yesterday second hand but it has come with the handbook. I know the basic controls frm past Fifa's but cannot take decent corners/ free kicks, they just have no pace and go straight to the keeper, I would like to know how to curle/ put pace on my set pieces, I am grateful for any help given!

you can cross it hard and low holding l1 and circle
also you can drive it pressing just circle, it is alot quiker this way but will rise quite easily
you can also do the l1 and circle for driven free kicks either as a shot or as a cross if u get what im saying
