Not everyone can get Virgin.

If you can't then use this BT Wholesale check to find out what broadband speed you can get. BT Openreach provides the cabling for other broadband providers and carrying out this check will tell you the maximum broadband speed you can get to your home.

Most providers advertise mimimum, average and maximum speed to your local exchange/cabinet. They don't tell you the "maximum observed download speed" from your local cabinet to your home. You may not be able to get the minimum speed advertised, so don't overpay for something you cant get.
