Courtney Pitt has returned to Portsmouth after his loan spell at Luton expired.

The 21-year-old winger made 14 appearances, scoring one goal, during a two-month stay at Kenilworth Road.

But Hatters boss Mike Newell is only allowed a limited number of loans with the club in administration.

Coventry striker Gary McSheffrey recently extended his loan spell with the club after scoring nine goals in 14 games.

But Newell is also looking for another goalkeeper with only teenage duo Robert Beckwith and Dean Brill to rely on.

Sounds like a good bet but I suspect we could not afford him. Nothing changes.

I see Deon Burton went on loan to Swindon last week.

I know he's affiliated to that lot of sailors down the road, but he could have been a good addition for us with a good record, especially with our inability to hit a barn door at the moment.

Pitt might be okay - but we need an out and out striker,.....
oh and yes - a manager too !
