Gerrard talking now on Sky says he wasn't even meant to be subbed, but the bench cocked it up.

Something has to chnage - England are flattering to deceive too often.

Gerrard was England's best player, but if they had to bring him off - injury worries, saving him for Wednesday, etc - why Carragher and not Wright-Phillips?

Typical Eriksson lack of bottle.
We have plenty of top-quality players out there. Sadly, can only blame the tactics and guidance...

NO SussexSpur, the point is they DIDN'T have to take him off at all. Gerrard informed the bench that Bridge couldn't go on, and Sven misunderstood and took Steven off.

Jesus f***, you wouldn't see that on a Sunday morning. What a complete f***ing shambles.

Sven

No way! Smith was SHIT! There's no way he can be considered ahead of Defoe, Vassell, Virgo etc.

Although I agree Wright-Phillips should have come on

Yep, accepted, sorry - didn't quite realise what had gone on.
Well, who would?

Sven's a marked man now, media-wise, anyway. Expect plenty of momentum towards his departure.
Except the FA's shenanigans in recent months mean it will be very expensive to sack him. And he's hardly likely to forego a whopping pay-off by resigning.
Hmm. . . Expect his long but inevitable leaving to drag on, damagingly, for a while. . . Until the anointment of McLaren. Without Steve Gibson's boundless, always-generously-given millions and tolerance to draw upon.
Inspiring, innit. . .

I think he's wealthy enough that he doesn't need to stop around seeing his image and reputation dragged further and further down. He's already a multi-millionaire, who could walk into another multi-million pound salary within a few weeks quite easily.

If the media pressure is getting to him, then in his shoes I'd walk out.

As for this one tonight, it's another example of where he just sits on his arse watching the game. A pro-active manager jumping up and down, on the touchline coaching the players would NEVER have made that mistake tonight. Sod sitting there moping your every growing forehead, get on your feet talk to the players and you may have the first f***ing clue what's going on. Stevie Gerrard obviously expected that Sven had noticed Bridge was struggling.

Absolute f***ing shambles.

Indeed Sunday league stuff from the coaching staff. Put a defender on to protect a 2-0 lead fair enough, but at 2-2 and with Cole, Phillips and Defoe on the bench. WTF?

f***ing shambles, he has to prove he has the courage to make the big changes, or there´s no point in him carrying on. Needs to bring in an attacking midfielder, stop being so defensive, DROP James and put in Robinson, get rid of Smith and put in Defoe. However, I expect we´ll be unchanged :nono:
