I'm expecting a legal challenge from ANY club that is subject to fines on promotion irrespective of how the money is disbursed.
With figures in the millions it would likely be years before any judgement was finalised.

David Burke said on the Roar that only fines for clubs being promoted to the Premier League 'might go to charity' (they hadn't apparently finalised details) - as the club in question would be leaving the Football League, and therefore out of its control.
He said that fines for clubs staying in the Football League would be distributed among other Football League clubs.
This story in the MoS has either missed this very important point, or the Football League clubs have suddenly become invertebrates.

Did anyone seriously believe the fines would be distributed to all the other clubs?
FFP is one big con in an effort from the football authorities to make it look like they are all good guys really after years of financial mismanagement....I just hope we are not the only ones to have fallen for this.
Financial prudence is one thing, but playing on a level field is another.
I hope whoever runs the financials in the club hadn't factored in a windfall of FFP fines coming our way a bit like ppi claims! If so they may be regretting that.

But clubs promoted to the PL are the only ones being fined. Clubs promoted from League 1 do not appear to be and neither are clubs that stay in the Championship.

why would clubs that asked for some form of restraint and agreed to the FFP system then legally challenge anything within the rules agreed?

I believe if you overspend and don't get promoted, you still get fined and a transfer embargo. As for League one, aren't they on a different measurement system to championship clubs?

League 1 - yes they are. And there is nothing on the Football League website that suggests that club's remaining in the championship get fined. Only transfer embargoes.

This is another consequence of the spineless FA decision back in the early nineties to hand over control of the football money to the Premier League clubs.
Going back to basics ... is there any GOOD reason why English club football shouldn't be controlled by ONE organisation?

They were just talking about it on SKY Sunday Supplement and it seems they will head off to the courts rather than abide by the FFP rules so what is the point of it all ? Spend what you want and if you go bust then have the sanctions but if you can afford to bankroll the club then carry on.

Simples. Forget fines - replace them with relegation (all the way to league two for serious breaches).

The clubs that stay in the football league will not have the money to pay the fines that is obvious to anyone with half an ounze of intelligence .Football in this country is run by spineless wankers

According to the League 'rules' on FFP there won't be any fines for clubs that stay in the Championship - fines only apply to those promoted to the Premier league.

All academic though if a club promoted to the EPL refuse to or cannot pay the fine.
Even more difficult to impose sanctions on a club such as QPR who didn't vote on the League FFP proposals.

And . . . . not ALL clubs voted on the FFP proposals - only those clubs that were in the league at the time.

The simple answer is build a squad to aim for promotion end of season 14/15so the transfer embargo wont affect you as you wont need anymore players to come in.
