When I was a kid in London, there used to be a cup shaped icecream, ice lolly combo mixed together , that had different disney character plastic handles that we collected...think it was peach ice, with vanilla ice cream....never seen them since, and loved the things..

theres a Russian icecream here, thats like vanilla icecream I remember as a kid... lovely...its in silver wrapper if youre ever here, in Vietnamese shops mainly.

When I was a lad, the Lord Toffingham was the only way to go.

As a kid I remember Count Dracula which was a lolly with a blood red jelly centre. Also Haunted House- a vanilla lolly with a skeleton or similar motif.

Ice cream men can be so rude though. Queued for ages at Mr Whippy and when it finally got to my turn blurted excitedly 'Two 99s!'

Imagine my dismay when Mr Whippy retorted 'A hundred and ninety eight. Next!'

This is turning into a procession: the Twister has it - it's all about the taste and texture. Just had a mini one. Shame there are no normal ones in the house...

The Haunted House was a luxury purchase. We all used to buy a Teddy Bear lolly from the van - cost 5p. Anyone used to buy an Oyster Shell, or was it a Granny option?
