Probably Spain - nice weather, nice food, nice people, nice places to go. What's not to love? Although France and - dare I say it - Germany also have their good points.
Croatia - before going thought it would be very backward etc.. but was suprised at how modern everything was, also has the added benefits of thousands of rich young italian women there in the summer
Germany - best night life anywhere in the world. Friendly people, relaxed. And I hear you can drink and smoke while watching the football. But then I have only ever been to Berlin...
I like mainland Europe for holidays and a bit of sunshine now and again, but I wouldn't want to live in another European country. I like the UK. I'm happy with where I live and where I grew up. I like the countryside - especially Sussex; I like picturesque villages; I like pubs by the river; I like old small cities like Bath and Oxford; Scotland is a blast - always had a good time there and the scenery is stunning; and, I think London is the best big city in Europe by far.
